Product overview
Designed for an informed trial.
Food Grade Papain is supplied for evaluation in food processes where a plant-derived protease can help modify proteins. Common development areas include meat tenderising, beer clarification, protein hydrolysis and other food-processing steps. Food-grade status does not by itself confirm approval for every country or every finished product. Buyers should review the exact specification, allergen information, processing-aid rules, permitted use and labelling requirements for the destination market.

Product FAQ
Before you qualify a grade
What does the TU activity figure mean?
TU is an activity result, not simply a percentage of papain. Compare grades only when the test method, sample basis and reporting units are the same. ProEnzyme confirms these details in the specification and COA.
How do I choose the right activity?
Start with the substrate, pH, temperature, contact time, batch size and target result. A controlled trial normally gives a better answer than choosing the highest activity number.
Can ProEnzyme support commercial supply?
Yes. ProEnzyme is a papain producer and supplier. Share your grade, volume, destination country, packaging and documentation needs so availability can be confirmed.
